Finally some action  I was experimenting with some different panel layouts in this one so hopefully it’s not too confusing though I kind of want it to be a little jarring.  This arc is building sooo slowly at once a week.

Aaaannd Evil’s had enough.

Thanks for the info on IndieGoGo guys.  I have heard of that one, though not all positive.  And apparently their fees/cut is even higher than Amazon/Kickstarter who keeps saying they’ll make it possible for more countries to participate eventually so whatever.  I’m not ready to print book 3 yet anyway.  Thinking of doing more wrestling stuff on the back cover but… damn babies sick again!  We just got through that last cold that slowly over the course of two weeks worked it’s way through all of us and lingered longest in the infants of course.  Just before xmas they were starting to sleep through the night and then congestion/runny noses ruined that.  We had one night of somewhat peaceful sleep and now they’re hacking up phlegm half the night and I’m averaging about 3-4 very interrupted hours per night.  It’s like having newborns all over again…with phlegm.

I meant to share this link with you guys a long time ago and totally forgot: Jason Good His random stand up stuff is funny but his entries about kids are hilarious.  Especially if you currently have a two year old.

Was working on commissions last week and had a fun time with a cat/sushi theme.  This is one of the unused sketches I loved.

I got this link to an interesting Kickstarter campaign some of you may like to check out: Meet the Hugalopes.  I think they’re rather clever and I’ll order one for Sambit for sure.  They remind me a bit of Mr. Potatohead which he really likes and there’s not quite so many pieces and they’re larger at that (the cat ran off with one of the potato arms and left it under the couch so now we have to be careful that all the bits get picked up when he’s done playing with it and that’s not something he excels at yet unfortunately.)  The other thing I like about this is the small business approach.  You can tell when something is dear to the creator/s and when the love and time and effort really come together and you end up with a really nice product (or webcomic it’s awesome to see.  Too bad Kickstarter campaigns can only be started in the US

Panel 4 Prozac is my favorite.  I thought I’d eventually get bored or have trouble drawing his exasperated and unimpressed faces but so far that hasn’t happened

Got a kind of strange shirt design up for voting on Woot.  I don’t think it’s going to woo any of the “cute” voters but whatever, it was fun to do.

Sambit’s old enough to go to birthday parties now and he’s been to a couple.  He seems to have caught on to the fact that birthdays means “Cake!”.  He could care less about presents, not when there’s “Cake!” and “bawoons!”  Now I just have to get him interested in interacting more with other kids.  It seems to be a little boy thing.  We went to a party for twin girls and they had a play room in the basement.  The little girls all got together and chatted about stuff and pranced ponies around a play mat and combed their manes.  The boys all scattered to different corners and banged things.  Our host wanted a group picture and the girls excitedly agreed and the boys had to be dragged and bribed to partake.  One refused to come out of the oven of the play kitchen.  The only time Sam actually wanted to interact with the girls was during the present opening.  They had two little chairs set up so the girls could sit down and unwrap stuff together.  As soon as one got up Sam would slither onto her chair.  The mom’s trying to take pictures and I kept darting in and picking him up.  It’s just not polite to play with someone’s brand new tea pot when they haven’t gotten to yet, especially when you pick it up and make a run for it

Anyway, they loved the cards I drew for them and I had fun drawing not bears for a change.

2011 was pretty crazy for us, here’s to a more relaxed 2012- oh wait, I’m gonna have TWO toddlers to chase after…  From my family to all of you and yours we wish you a wonderful New Year and lots of luck in 2012!  For everyone working off the holiday excess pounds here’s some motivation for you

Merry late Christmas everyone!  We hope everyone had a great holiday and wish you guys a wonderful New Year.  For us, this Christmas was full of “No!”s, the worst runny nose yet, and a pretty nasty cough that led to middle of the night waking and crying.

We came home from a family dinner on Christmas eve still hungry as neither of was able to eat much: between a sickly/over tired terrible twos toddler determined to grab every breakable thingy at my aunt’s house and two babies who screamed half the time from over stimulation and too many people… not a relaxing Christmas eve.  Maybe next year I’ll actually be able to socialize with my family.

PAGE 300!  At the rate I’m going now it may take me just as long to get to 400  Actually the babies are maturing right before my eyes and that’s both exciting and kind of sad.  They’ll be 6 months old tomorrow and those early weeks of incubators and feeding tubes seem so far behind.  They’re still going slowly (at this age Sam had already been sitting unassisted and eating solids for a couple of months) but today I was able to put them on a play mat on the rug while Sam watched Cars and they managed to stay occupied and happy for about 30 minutes while I wrapped Christmas presents.  Mommy was so proud!  At least until Sam tried to unwrap what I’d just finished and we got into an argument about trying to stand on the presents.  His favorite word is now “no”, even when it’s something he likes, he just has to say no first, then “okay”.  Sheesh.  Maybe we can convince the twins to skip the age of 2.

Woo!  Page 299!  This is also the last page of what will be vol 3 which does not yet have a cover, or a back cover, or extra pages, or a completely finished bonus comic, etc… Maybe it’ll be done for con season come May/June.  The twins will be about a year old then, my God.

So I know talking about politics generally opens a big can of (interesting) worms but I seriously don’t understand the appeal of Newt Gingrich.  Somebody explain this to me: how does a “family values” candidate who left his first wife (who had MS), and then his second (who got cancer) have the balls to criticize anyone else about their infidelity??  Does wife number three honestly think he won’t cheat on her when someone younger comes around?  Is it possible to take a candidate seriously when he spends his campaign time doing a book tour and hanging out with (shudder) Trump?  And did he really say poor kids could learn the “dignity of work” as assistant (and un-unionized) janitors in their own schools?  What subjects should the poor kids miss while they’re scrubbing the rich kids’ toilets?  Or perhaps they should just stay after school for that chore.  Oh and what happens to the janitors you’ve now put out of work?  Didn’t Gingrich get kicked out of government for corruption or something, and by his own party??  I… just don’t get it.

Twins still sniffling.  Occasionally they wake up way too early thanks to runny/stuffy noses.  I actually hear it and wake up before they do and am thus extra cranky before they even start screaming.  As usual, Jim snores through it all.  This children rearing thing is soooo one sided

Happy belated Thanksgiving to all it applies.  I spent the weekend checking out all the Black Friday shopping riot videos online… I think our society really needs to think about changing our priorities.  This kind of stuff is obscene (and I’m not just talking about that woman’s outfit).  And then there’s the pepper spray over a discounted xbox incident.  Wow.
