Page 105
Show of hands: who hates clowns?? Hate may be a little strong, but I definitely don’t find them entertaining. And neither does Evil apparently
Today’s vote incentive is something a little different again: page 1 of 5 of a little comic I did for fun just so I could play around with black and white. I’ll post all 5 pages in a row over the next 2 weeks- it’s like you’re getting 2 comic updates in one day!! If you’re a pirate fan I apologize in advance, but you just know it’s not going to end well…
I also did an interview with Kelly at Fandomania.com. You can read it here.

Clowns… *shudder*
July 31st, 2009 at 12:02 am
Awwwww. I think the humiliation is worse than the pain for him.
July 31st, 2009 at 12:05 am
When Evil becomes evil, he should show those Clowns how to make a pencil dissapear (Not Joker style, Evil style!)
July 31st, 2009 at 12:14 am
UNTIL ONE DAY Evil strangled the ring master and fled to live in the basement of a theater, where he learned to sing and play music and strangle people even better and then went on to terrorize the people of the theater and started stalking this girl and talking to her through a mirror and yeah. That’s how he earned his name. And uh… his scar apparently.
Oh and don’t worry, no one likes clowns. Poor guys.
Though the only time I’d ever gone to a circus in my life, I was more scared of the ringleader. *shrug*

For someone who doesn’t care too much about clowns, you drew them very well! Awesome! Seriously,I see why there are no more “bear acts” in most modern circus shows! Their first mastake would’ve been their last if I where a bear! But i’ll wait till they put me out first. Then it’s mauling time! Evil is a good looking bear with his ears folded back! Can’t wait to see him get ferocious!
@snow Yup. That’s why I don’t use any flammable hair/skin care products.

Woo 4th., and I only had to be here at 2 in the morning
At least he’s not on fire, I don’t hate clowns…they’re funny, but I wouldn’t touch one with a 10 foot pole
I say, the pruple one’s gay, adn the blue one has been set on fire….before…hehe
The ball and pies are tolerable…if not annoying, the baby carriage needs an explanation as to why he’s in it, and the person throwing the knives had better watch their back
I’m lookin forward to 2 comics…now…plz make Evil happy
July 31st, 2009 at 1:55 am
forgot to add the “R”.
July 31st, 2009 at 2:16 am
Even rodeo clowns look down on circus clowns. Wusses. And mimes. Pfff. The carpet tacks of the world of face paint entertainment.
Can’t wait to that panel in which Evil snaps and becomes evil, and the panels following depicting what he does to the ringmaster. Can’t wait.
July 31st, 2009 at 2:43 am
Personally, I’m indifferent to clowns.
At this rate, Evil’s going to have worse than coulrophobia (fear of clowns). He’s going to become antisocial, cruel, and downright evil. Wait a minute….
July 31st, 2009 at 3:04 am
poor poor Evil!
July 31st, 2009 at 3:44 am
Something is going to happen to make him the evil we know!
July 31st, 2009 at 3:45 am
I thought the last five panels were cute, so I made a .gif of it if anyone wants to use it an an avatars on forums.

Host it yourself though, I’m already using that copy.

I really don’t like clowns, I didn’t like them when I was a child and I won’t like them when I’m old.
They are not funny, just silly, dumb and ugly. >_<
Ah, when I see how they treat lil’ Evil Bear, I want to see them suffer like he does.
No, even more! Hrrhrr… I’m really looking forward to the page when he will give it all back to them!
July 31st, 2009 at 5:33 am
i like clowns, though i dont think they’re funny… for me they’re a bit scary and evil and always remind me of the book “It” by Stephen King. as i said i like them… well, my favourite writer is Stephen King!
i CANT wait til the page where Evil turns evil!
July 31st, 2009 at 6:30 am
Time is circular. Evil deserves it.
July 31st, 2009 at 6:34 am
There is a reason why clowns are considered scary by so many people …. they just ARE.
July 31st, 2009 at 6:39 am
I think Terry Pratchett has the best representation of clowns/fools, in his Discworld novels… From The Discworld Companion by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Briggs: “It is strange but instructive to contrast the [Fool's] Guild with the Assassins’ Guild next door. One is a pleasant, airy building, whose corridors echoes with the laughter of students and hum with the quiet activity of people working hard in a job they love - the other is gaunt, forbidding and silent except for the occasional muffled sob. One leaves its gates open most of the time and its graduates are considered to brighten up any party - the other operates its wretched craft behind locked doors and its members are regarded with disdain by right-thinking people. One turns out people who, admittedly, must in the course of their duties sometimes stab, poison or otherwise inhume their patients - but at least they never ask them to believe that pouring whitewash down someone’s trousers is funny.”
July 31st, 2009 at 7:48 am
I have no comments! No wonder how Evil became such antisocial self due this all humilhation. Actually I´m against raising animals in circus, but is only personal opinion.
July 31st, 2009 at 8:45 am
gridsleep: Circus clowns have a rough enough life as it is. The only clowns I’d look down at are Shrine clowns, at least the ones who look like the old ladies who trowel on their make-up and think bathroom humor is the funniest thing to come around. BTW, I was a professional strolling act for several years. I have nothing but respect for someone who works as hard as some entertainers.
July 31st, 2009 at 9:28 am
THe only clown that I’m okay with is Ronald Mcdonald for some reason-and even he was originally really creepy. I’m not afraid of clowns-I just don’t like them very much. I noticed that little Evil lacks horns. Love the last panel-poor little guy.
July 31st, 2009 at 9:39 am
I REALLY DON’T LIKE CLOWNS!!! There, that’ll sum it up. Btw, I love Evil’s faces in the last row. Priceless.
July 31st, 2009 at 9:48 am
Hey machchunk! That looks cool!
July 31st, 2009 at 9:53 am
And here I was hoping that Evil was evil just because he was a bad seed. (clowns - scary)
July 31st, 2009 at 10:36 am
I feel so bad for Evil :c
Me and my mum are both terrified of clowns. She screams and runs, I…. curl into a ball….
July 31st, 2009 at 11:13 am
Great Interview Alison, it is so freaking true about Death Bear… Oh yeah… poor Evil
July 31st, 2009 at 11:16 am
“At this rate, Evil’s going to have worse than coulrophobia (fear of clowns)…”
If that’s the case, then Evil will have something in common with Crack Bear!
July 31st, 2009 at 11:59 am
*waves hand* I have no trouble saying I hate clowns. Hate is an entirely appropriate emotion for them. Admittedly I don’t know many clowns, but they seem like really messed up people. >_>
July 31st, 2009 at 12:48 pm
@ Gridsleep: Atleast Rodeo clowns have more a purpose than just entertainment. I can’t count how many times one saved my hide from a bull lol.
July 31st, 2009 at 1:22 pm
I HATE CLOWNS!!! They’re evil and lives in those creepy places called cirkus where they “torture” animals
love the comic ^^ can see why evil turned out the way he is!
July 31st, 2009 at 2:11 pm
Clowns aren’t funny, unless they are on fire or being raped.
July 31st, 2009 at 4:09 pm
Awh! Personally, I dislike clowns. They use balloons, and I’m terrified of them since I was little. I feel bad for Evil, you show how they mistreat (is that how it’s written? O.o) animals and such. I’m not a big fan of the circus. I like the acrobats, though, they’re awesome. Evil is so cute! *-*
July 31st, 2009 at 6:41 pm
“Show of hands: who hates clowns?? Hate may be a little strong, but I definitely don’t find them entertaining. And neither does Evil apparently :)”
Or at least, he won’t after this comic! >:) Poor, psychotic little bear…
July 31st, 2009 at 7:45 pm
Yeah i’d be evil after that as well, but maybe that’s cause i’m inclined to evil.
July 31st, 2009 at 7:48 pm
Hahahahah! I love Evil’s expression in the second to last panel. Maybe Evil’s abusive behavior is his way of compensating for his lack of control early in life? Or maybe it’s just funny. Yeah, the second one.
Clowns are irritating.
July 31st, 2009 at 8:37 pm
Now we know where he learned his tricks, at least. Somehow fitting that he learned from clowns.
July 31st, 2009 at 8:46 pm
Also, I never had any fear/hatred of clowns as a small child, I loved ‘em. But ever since the first time I saw a picture of Pennywise (the clown from “It”, for those who might not know) I’ve found them somewhat creepy.
August 1st, 2009 at 7:42 am
At this exact time, Death’s votes now number 1337, just thought I would bring it to every-one’s attention :P. I also find clowns disturbing… especially the ones in my closet…
August 1st, 2009 at 1:30 pm
you know the group really needs a feminine touch. I vote for PMS bear.
August 1st, 2009 at 3:12 pm
One question that im sure has been raised before, where did evil get his horns from? did he make a pact with a demon or something?
August 1st, 2009 at 9:07 pm
…And so Evil’s set of psychological dominoes are set in place.
August 2nd, 2009 at 5:11 pm
I’ve just jumped on board and finished reading from 1 - 105. Gawd I love this comic. Poor Evil… no wonder he’s so twisted.
August 2nd, 2009 at 8:13 pm
I have nightmares about evil clown devils…
August 2nd, 2009 at 8:32 pm
clowns scare me somewhat i tend to stay away from them…
August 2nd, 2009 at 9:47 pm
clowns are creepy o.o evil is so cute, how could they do that to him??? D:
August 2nd, 2009 at 11:27 pm
You’d better have Death Bear’s story arc up next -_-
August 4th, 2009 at 9:12 pm
And this is why clowns are so hated today….can’t wait to see Evil pay ‘em back for putting him through all that heartache.
August 6th, 2009 at 10:04 am
Beard clowns are awesome. The IT clown killed me in nightmares.
December 4th, 2009 at 4:42 pm
man I hate clowns I saw IT when I was only 3
