I can’t figure out what’s worse; the fact that Evil has the kid in a bag, or the thought of Michael Jackson putting a kid in a bag.

I think Nerds ability to stand up to evil comes from the +5 courage personality bonus that he got from using the “Wooden Stick of Holy Retribution”. He now knows that he can beat the snot out of Evil when he wants to.
